Kincardine Bridge links Fife to Falkirk and the motorway network to Glasgow and the south. 'The Silver Link' was built in 1936, and today carries much more traffic than was ever planned. 

The bridge is a swing bridge, and the central span (see top picture) used to swing round to allow shipping to pass. It was last opened in c. 1994, and is now no longer used.
